Catalog #19 - SUSQUEHANNA 1997-1999
Since my last Susquehanna video release at the end of 1996, I have continued to keep an eye on the Susquehanna here in Northern New Jersey. I have put together another 2-hour volume of footage, focusing on the Southern Division from December 1996 through October 1999.
Footage contained in this video consists mostly of intermodal road trains, and more recently, solid auto racks traversing the Southern Division between Butler and Campbell Hall. Foreign power has become even more diverse, especially since the absorption of Conrail by Norfolk-Southern and CSX. You'll see Conrail, CP Rail, Union Pacific, BN, BNSF Warbonnets, new NS GE wide-cabs, and new CSX GE CW60AC's.
Fan trip coverage includes (1) the October-97 Volunteer Railroaders Association's Fall Foliage Streamliner Special, pulled by restored Lehigh Valley F-units, (2) the October-98 Jersey Central NRHS-sponsored "Black Diamond" Lehigh Gorge trip on the Reading & Northern, from Jim Thorpe to Mehoopany, featuring the ex-Erie-Lackawanna SD45-2's, (3) Susquehanna's Mikado #142 and the C&O 4-8-4 #614, double-headed at Port Jervis, NY., and (4) the October-99 NYS&W Technical & Historical Society's Fall Foliage Steam excursion on the Southern Division, featuring the #142.
(Run time: 2 hours.) Total price $27.00 postpaid to USA.
